I had asked O'Reilly a month or so back about Spidering Hacks Second Edition, a project I'm heartily interested in doing. They didn't think it was viable at the current time, or that the sales really suggested there was an interest in it (unlike Google Hacks, for example).
Before sending my previous list email, I sent another request asking about such a beast - perhaps an Updated Hacks PDF of some sort - and their response was that they've been attempting to center update-y type things like that around hacks.oreilly.com. In Spidering Hacks case, it'd be at http://hacks.oreilly.com/pub/ht/28. I got the impression, however, that any updates to those pages would not be paid, and I simply can't afford that at the present time.
