So did you install all these packages then? If you just installed the dmg and ran "sudo port -v upgrade outdated" then I would not expect you to have all this stuff installed. Anyway. Ryan's idea of starting over isn't necessarily a bad one, especially if you don't actually intend to have many ports installed at this point! Or you can provide more info like what Ryan asked for in his most recent message and we might be able to figure it out.
