Actually, the costumer service person sounded quite open to the idea of making
Real Basic compatible with VO. She seemed to think, however, that the more
blind people who go on record as being interested in the product, the more
likely it is that the folks at the company who are in charge will stop and
listen. So, rather than giving up, I suggest that we use our buying influence
to sway software companies to make their products VO-compatible.

Cordially,
Rafael

Rafeal,

There should be away to run the tools from the command line rather than running
them from the IDE. You might check that out.

I might also remind them that a blind persons money is just as green as a
sighted person's, and that by not making there software usable to someone that
can't see, they are losing business. However, they don't sound overly
interested in working with you, and when ever I get a response like that I
usually just tell who ever that I'll just not buy their product and to have a
nice day.

I purchased a Macbook because I would rather use OS10 than Microsoft Windblows,
and Apple opened the door for me to do so. If they make other products
accessible, I will likely buy other things from them as well.

  Hello everyone,

I am working on getting the folks at Real Software to improve the
accessibility of Real Basic for Macintosh. For those of you who do not know,
Real Basic is a programming language that allows one easily and quickly to
build applications on the Mac that also will work in Windows and Linux. The
problem is that Real Basic is not currently accessible with VO. Customer
service at Real Software has informed me that it will be more likely that Real
Basic will be made accessible if a large number of visually impaired Mac users
request improvements in accessibility, so I am providing a link to their
feedback page for anyone who wishes to see another development platform
available for the Mac. Please help. The link is
