When either governments or service providers refuse to use the various channels
available, users get affected.

For example:

South Africa is a country with well over fifty million citizens. We are at the
bottom tip of Africa and are serviced by a handful of submarine cables. Sadly,
all service providers except Neotel, do not make use of the entire bouquet but
only one. When that canle was damaged, the entire country's internet
communications became so slow that it became useless. No access to cloud
servers, as connections timed out.

Neotel customers of course did not even know there was a problem as traffic was
just automatically rerouted. 😄. Sadly, Neotel has a small consumer footprint as
it isn't available everywhere.

What works on paper does mot always work on practice.

Yes, the iCloud is a dream when it is accessible and also my first choice. It
just works'

Now to get a dependable internet connection...,,,,
