Thank you both so much.  I never even considered that it would have  
anything to do with groups mode.  So, I switched to DOM mode and then  
voiceover read the expanded text.  It worked.  :)  I had not used DOM  
mode for anything before.  It never occurred that DOM mode would allow  
me to access those things.  Strangely voiceover still read the  
"expanded text" after I switched back to groups mode.

Since you both taught me this little trick, I went to the keyboard  
commander to set up the toggle between groups and Dom modes.  I'm just  
so glad to know of this little trick as I have encountered this issue  
before on other web sites and now I have hope that I can try toggleing  
the mode to get voiceover to read the text that seems to expand off of  
a link.  :)
