Hi,

I have discovered the mistery. You have to buy the Snatch application  
if you want the fully-featured trackpad. The light one only does track  
and single clicking. It costs $8 on the iPhone side.

You start the server on the Mac, and use the info provided on the  
Snatch application on the iPhone to connect to it. If you set a  
password (which is recommended), you of course will be required to  
enter it. There are probably faster ways of doing this and less  
frustrating ones, but this is probably a pretty obvious one.

I'm assuming the app for the iPhone is in the store somewhere.
