Hello Krister, Not to appear provocative but I am curious as to why you want to "get rid of" the preview pane in mail?
You are not alone, many, many people choose to do so but I do not know why. As for me, I find that the application works beautifully using the standard display configuration in conversation view, with the preview pane active. In fact, were it not for this, the best Mac application I've ever used, there would be no way I could subscribe to so many mailing lists and hope to manage them all. As I said, I'm just curious.
