As far as getting acquainted with the workings of VoiceOver on the Mac, three
things will be of invaluable help.
1) Keyboard help (Command Option + K)
entering keyboard help will let you press any key combo and hear what its
function is - a great memory aid for learning the VO keystrokes. Exit keyboard
help by pressing escape.

2) the quick start tutorial for VO, selected from within the VO help system
(Command Option + H. If you’re completely unfamiliar with VO on the Mac, it’s a
good jumping off point that will get your feet wet.

3) the Getting started guide - a complete user manual for VoiceOver.
Also accessed from within the VO help system command option + H, It covers
every aspect of VoiceOver and it will serve you well to spend the time to read
it thoroughly. and refer to it as often as needed in the early days.
