That’s essentially how I would go about it Wayne. I would of course, reformat 
the drive before reinstalling the OS, but you probably meant to include that 
step in your description.
BTW. Are you aware that there is no punctuation in your message? I only mention 
it because it makes it hard to read your post when it’s one long run-on
