You may not have the problem . It is unclear why some of us are retaining Mavericks on our Recovery Console, even after installing Yosemite but clearly this problem is not affecting everybody. Some people are in fact getting the correct Yosemite Recovery Console. I suggest you simply have a look by restarting and pressing Command R. Obviously you do not have to proceed with any re-install but you will then be able to hear whether you are being given the option to re-install Mavericks or Yosemite.
If you hear Yosemite you are OK.
If Mavericks we are in the same situation.
I will start by trying to download the latest Yosemite installer and replace my old installer with this.

David,
your problem sounds very serious and a real headache. What would your
recommendation be for those who do not have a yosemite installer handy? I’m
afraid of this happening to me and as of now, I do not have an installer of
yosemite.

There is some discussion of this problem on
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6638906
where people running Yosemite 2013 machines are still getting Mavericks
Recovery Console.
There is no official resolution except that someone at the bottom of the page
says that donwloading Yosemite again and reinstalling it then removed the
Mavericks Recovery Partition.

For the time being though I will take the approach of if it anin'si not broken
do not try to fix it.

I am not sure how old your iMac is or whether or not this would be a factor,
but if I use cmd-r at restart and take the steps to reinstall, it is Yosemite
that is indeed shown as the install that will be done, not Mavericks. So I
don't think the problem is that Apple has failed to allow a Yosemite install
but unfortunately I don't know what the problem may have been when you
attempted this.
