Hi Pam, I don't use GMail but I know it offers iMap, and I presume that means 
it also offers a way of creating server-side rules as it's a fairly common 
feature these days. No doubt there'll be GMail users on here who will know.
Worst case scenario, you can certainly do it on the Mac side in Mail 
Preferences.
