hello, that's what i am doing right now, you can download songs on youtube by 
typing the song with karaoke,. 
then download it by pasting the link to this site.
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/it

then after you download the file, you can paste it on garage band, then sing 
along with the track. if you want some video, that is also my problem because 
dragging mp3 file on imovie is not accessible.
