When you save a document, you have the opportunity to specify where on the Mac it should be saved i.e., in what folder. If you don't remember what folder it was set to you
Can open up TextEdit, type something in and then save that document. Now look to see what folder the this text will be saved in and that is where your other document was most likely saved in as well. TextEdit remembers the folder settings until you change them. So whatever the current folder setting is, that's where all the prior documents were sent to.
