Hi Mary,
See if by some strange accidental press of a button, you enabled
restrictions. You'll find this in settings>general>restrictions. If that
has gotten turned on, that will (if the correct option is selected),
make deleting apps not possible as you restricted it.

However, this morning I went to delete some apps from my iPad mini, which is
running the latest iOS. I double tap and hold, get the tone, and get the
announcement that application X is editing. At this point, I expect to be able
to double tap on the app and then flick to a delete and confirm. However,
nothing happens I double tap, and things stay as they are, no change. Nothing.
What am I doing wrong. I checked the rotor to see if somehow I had missed the
introduction of an action item. Nothing there. I need to get some stuff off of
my mini, and can't do it. Help!
