I suspect the same is true for everyone. For me, I prefer single-ear devices that do not impede ambient noise and that have the smallest proverbial footprint with the greatest amount of playback features. While I see well enough to use a soft on-off button, I prefer a hardware on/off switch. I do not use my Bluetooth headset for high quality sound playback but simply as a way to quickly interact with my phone, while on the go. I will defer to you as to which is the better with regard to noise cancellation. I cannot tell a difference between the two but I do have some hearing loss that no doubt impairs my ability to judge. I think they both sound great. As for battery life, it would make sense that the Legend do slightly better as it's battery is larger. I love the fact that I can wear the Edge, without an ear-loop, comfortably. And, because the earpiece sits outside the ear-canal, I enjoy ambient sound, crucial to me when navigating about the city. Sometimes, I have honestly forgotten I was wearing the Edge. A couple of weeks ago, I was searching for the darn thing when someone said, "Isn't that it, in your ear?" It really is that lightweight and comfortable, to me. The biggest deal-breaker for me is the Legends proprietary connector. As a long-time Plantronics fan, discovering that they had changed the connector, on the Legend, just ticked me off--it's really that simple and I've never gotten over that resentment (smile). I however am the reverse of you and prefer the Legend over the edge and heres my thoughts, let me know if you think I’m nuts or not. The noise cancelation on the legend is the best. The edge is very good don’t misunderstand but the legend is just that little bit extra. I have tested both in very high noise environments (data centers with powerful cooling and tens of thousands of nodes). Both do well, the legend is a bit easier for the far end caller to hear in my experience and while both have excellent battery life the legend is a bit better and will give you in my experience a full work day. The Edge is great for someone who wears glasses because you do not have to use the loop to wear it safely and comfortably. However, the legend can fit behind your ear and while it’s more bulky glasses can be negotiated. I would break them down this way. The edge is the more stylish light weight version that you might wear to business meetings or out etc. Similar to the jawbone it’s very stylish and has a stylized shape etc. If what you want though is a serious work horse that has the absolute best noise cancelation and is designed for use in harsh environments the legend is for you. Bottom line though and I think Mark would agree both are great headsets. I do like your point on the proprietary cable but I would point you at the excellent charging case you can get for the legend where using that magnet it fits nicely inside and gives you extra charges on the fly. Also gives you a reset button so you can reset the hardware if needed which I haven’t had to yet. Nice to see another headset enthusiast.
