Guys, it's not offerring this as an update. I have enough vision to be able to tell you what's really happenning.

When you load the app store, you're seeing Sierra showing as it pops up on the main homepage of the store as a graphical banner that runs along the top of the html content area. It's almost like an ad if you will. Apple's trying to encourage the update to all people, so they put it there.

Regardless the make and model of your system, Sierra or not, you're gonna see that, as it's part of the content of the page.

A way to prove this to you is like this. When you have updates, go in and hit update all. Notice you're not updated to Sierra, yet, now, go back again after the updates finnish and look at your Apple Menu. You'll now see on the App Store item, it no longer says, X updates.

If it were truly trying to offer you that Sierra update, it would still show at least 1 update, which it doesn't any longer.

As far as I know, iOS doesn't even offer an update if the device doesn't support it. I'd report this as a bug to Apple.
