A few thoughts: 90 of the blind people were able to read the braille. This means, the braille was not as normally perceived. It requires a second heat source to activate the expansion. So, it includes a heat-reactive component which swells. The swelling occurs in all directions, not just vertical. So, the braille will most likely feel like half-dome rounded dots. The printer probably sprays more ink in the center of each dot to get increased hight, but as the ink powder dries from the application of the lazer, there will be some spillage. I evaluated some 3d printed tactile maps, and the 3d printed braille which was on the vertical surfaces did not work very well because of the slight spillage. I suspect the dots will not be as tall, or as sharp, as blind people are used to. Therefore, as currently explained, my guess is the device will work better as a tactile graphics printer rather than as a braille printer.
