Hello Andrew,

Although I was able to download German and it initially worked perfectly, I
blew something else, and German has disappeared.

When I tried to add a German keyboard in the Mac preferences, I did something
(I don’t know what) and I not only lost German speech, but I did not install
the German keyboard either. I feel like such a Klutz!

I made my mistakes in the Apple preferences menu, language and Regional
settings pane.

Although I can currently only choose between English voices, it takes my Mac at
least five seconds to switch from one to the other, something which occurred
instantaneously prior to my flub-up. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Mike
