Let us please remember that last year, iPhones with degrading batteries started shutting off automatically at 20%. People, including some on this list, really complained about it. Now, of course, many of those same people are complaining because Apple has instituted a fix so that their iPhones will not just shut down from overheating.
According to the more in-depth articles I have been reading, The slow-down only engages once the battery pack starts degrading.
