If that worked then your braille display is suspect. Either a
setting changed, or the cable is defective.

I don’t know what is going on. The most important thing I need to do is
transfer files from my MacBook to my Actilino braille display, so if anyone
uses these two devices together, please weigh in. I’ve never had trouble with
this before, other than a cable glitch.

You are not seeing any devices connected to the USB port in the sidebar

seen this behavior with any mscOS update.

Yes. I can get to my Computer, but it is not showing. Nor is it showing in
system report, hardware, USB. However, in one particular example, when I
connect my Braille display, it makes a low chirp, indicating there is some sort
of communication going on. But it is nowhere to be found.

I don’t know what is going on, all, but some time in the past couple of months
since I last used a USB device, something has conspired to make me completely
unable to locate them in order to transfer anything. I have looked everywhere:
in USB in System Monitor, in Computer, I sought the Devices sidebar, (which,
too, seems to have disappeared, along with All My Files). Everything else seems
in order: Documents, Downloads, Library, etc., but nothing I do is locating any
connections or devices. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Did something
happen in a recent update and I am merely woefully uninformed as to whatever
changes were made that require me to conduct my actions differently in order to
do a simple transfer or saving of files? TIA.
