Hi, FaceTime is associated with your Apple ID within the iCloud domain. So, you initially need to have an iPhone to associate a phone number to FaceTime. Enable FaceTime on the iPhone, and your iPhone number will be associated with the Apple ID. You can then go into FaceTime on your Mac and enable your phone number as the method, or one of the methods, for contacting you via FaceTime.
