Hello,

You might want to try using Inbox either at inbox.gmail.com or the inbox app on
the phone.

Inbox does that Google automatic categorization stuff, but when you open a
specific category on the iPhone version there are a few buttons along the top.
These buttons will act either on every message (except tagged messages) or
every selected message if you have at least one message selected.

The buttons are:
Bundle settings: Mostly useful for turning on / off notifications.
delete all un pinned items or all selected items (if all unselected items then
goes back to the main view)
Done: Archives unpinned or selected messages.
Move to: pops up a list of folders. Can be used to recategorized messages that
Google gets wrong or to save items into folders / Google label

When looking at the list of messages with the action rotar, swiping down
brings up move to trash, swiping up is select item. Once one item is selected
the default action for double tapping switches from open/activate to select .
Other actions in the rotar are: pin, snooze, There is also a snooze action in
the rotor available by swiping in either direction twice.

Within individual messages you can also “snooze” and “pin” a message. These
When you pin a message the bulk actions don’t effect it.
If you snooze a message you pick a time (later today , next week, next month …)
and then the message disappears from Inbox until that time and you will get a
notification and then the message will be “pinned”.

On the web interface it is also possible to find ways of selecting an entire
list, but it is barely intuitive for those that can see, and I can only find it
by backward and forward tabbing a few times through the standard google mail
view.

Best Wishes,

Jonathan
