Hi Tim,

Interesting what you say about the restore from other pad,
I managed to have all applications installed within 30 minutes however that
wont count what happens behind the screen.

As for battery,
Yeah that was of the first things I checked after the initial battery issue,
It didn’t really say a lot about what had been using the battery,
So I’ll have to put it down to initial setup issues.

Cheers,

Hi Simon,

Two things. First, if you did a restore from a previous iPad or iPhone backup
on your new iPad, then the first 24 to 36 hours could be a killer on battery
life. What's happening during the restoration process is that your iPad first
brings all the settings and app/media markers down to the iPad. This part is
quick and lets you get started using your iPad, but the actual download of the
apps and/or media is still happening for many hours depending on how many apps
and how much media is being downloaded. You can tell this because many apps
will say something like "Seeing AI, In iCloud" until it is actually
specifically downloaded. There's either a notification that most of us ignore,
that says something about leaving your device plugged in during the restoration
process, or some article on restoring that mentions that. Second, go into
Settings, Battery to determine what is using battery resources. It's usually
listed in there by highest user of juice first.

HTH.

Hi Mark,

Yeah stupid setup mistake of my own,
Don't know how I missed it after I've done this so many times on so many
devices.

Anyway have now fixed the issue.

As a matter of interest,
How do you find the battery usage on your Pro?

To me my device is going through battery quicker than I'd expect.

Hello Simon,

Oh my!

I’m unclear as to what is not working correctly.

If you cannot get to the home screen / launch pad of your device, then you will
have to use iTunes on your Mac or Windows PC to restore iPad.

As for the seemingly extreme battery drainage, be sure to turn your screen
brightness down to the lowest level possible.

The battery life on your device should be much better than that of the iPhone,
at least I think so.

Please keep us posted and I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Mark

Hi List,

Ok so I’ve just stuffed up kind of bad like.

I’ve just been checking the battery usage on my iPad pro 11” which is only 2
days old, The reason being that it’s just gone through 75% battery life within
36 hours and I’ve only really used it for a couple of hours of emailing and
configuring

So I eraised it and reset it up only to find I missed the step where I needed
to set the passcode with my face id,

Anyone know how to reset an iPad pro back to factory defaults so I can start
the setup again?

I’ve tried my normal passcode but I can confirm it doesn’t work.

Any help on tis would be appreciated.

If I can’t fix it, I’ve got a brand new iPad pro 11” for sale!

Cheers,

Simon f
