Hi mark, I've used it with chat for work and as part of a chat group you just use the chat tab and ckick the chat room so to speak and type in the text box.
As for meetings, No you can setup free meetings with friends and it will only require a meeting ID which should be given when you setup a meeting. It's very usable on the IOS platform.
