I use this app a lot. no. they don't spam you. I don't remember how I signed
up, whether I signed in with facebook or used a password.

typically I'm using "join a meeting". this means you have the zoom i.d. for a
meeting being established by somebody else. they'll send you a link to join.
take the numbers that are in that link and input them into the field. there
will be 6 or 7. there are choices to make before you join. your screen name
will be whatever you used when you sign up. you can alter this if you wish by
tapping on "screen name". there's "turn off my audio" which I never use and
"turn off my video" which I almost always use. if your video's off nobody will
be able to see you but your name will be there. if you want to text chat you
have to tap on "participants" first and then you'll find chat. you can send to
another individual attendee or the whole group. if there's a lot of text
chatting going on I sometimes have to turn my speech off so I can hear the
presentation.

I don't know as much about starting a meeting. I think you can send out a link
to people who want to participate. with a free account your time is limited
unless there are only 2 participating. not sure if you can record using the
phone or not but I know you can on the computer.

ask questions and if I know the answers I'll pass them along.
