but it didn't work.
This is so strange, yes now I know for sure that the key to the left
of number 1 is the accent, and in fact when I press shift plust
accent I got that symbol or whatever it is, however, nothing seems to
work to change from one document to another.

command though, cmd-accent will do fine. If your keyboard is

When I took a look on google, people's instructions are to hit
command plus tilde, but I just can't figure out which key is
this "tilde" on my keyboard.

modify a particular shorcut?
