Tim, the mystery deepens. There was no "kind" option so I chose the checked option to see what that might turn up. Found some of the songs from two of the new albums that were unchecked. They did not stay checked. So I turned syncing off. All the music left my phone...except the songs from all the new albums. They show in the iOS music app but do not show under the My Device list on the Mac.

What do I need to do to straighten out this mess? Thanks!

Hi,

In iTunes on your Mac, make sure that the Music table is in List view, then interact with the table and press VO-shift-back slash.  This will put VO into the Header info for the columns.  Either sort it by "Kind" or by iCloud status if that is a column.  You can press cmd-j to bring up the View options if "kind" is not one of the headers.  If you sort by "iCloud Status", then you may find some "ineligible" titles.  If you sort by "Kind", you may find some pdf or Album Jacket kinds of items.  These likely won't be able to be transferred to the iOS device.

In iTunes the total number is about 6,000. The number that was synced to my iDevices is about 100 less. Plenty of free space so just curious if its possible to find out what those 100 are.
