Marie, You heard from John already. I recommend you visit his web site at macfortheblind.com <http://macfortheblind.com/> and look at his audio tutorials. Many are cost-based, but there are about a half dozen basic tutorials that are free, and are very well done. I learned a lot from John’s tutorials, and also from those done by David Woodbridge on appleviz.com <http://appleviz.com/> (did I spell that one right?). I did a lot of listening and struggling in my first 3 or 4 months using the Mac, but am becoming more comfortable with the Sox approach. I made it a point to become familiar first with the Mail and Textedit apps, and then spent a whole lot of time learning how to get around in Finder. Calendar and Contacts were a bit more difficult to use, and I’m still not comfortable with Contacts. Other places you should spend time poking around would be in the Voiceover Utility and System Preferences. And of course post your questions to this list. There are some real experts on board.
