I’ve done nothing special with the EQ setting in the Music app on my iPhone X running iOS 13.4.1, and I just played the same track (Aquarius by the 5th Dimension) and everything sounded good through both the iPhone’s speakers and my AirPods Pro.

If you go in to your settings on your phone and find the music app settings you should find the QE settings in there. It is usually turned off by default but if you turn it on you can adjust your preferences for the type of music and other stuff.
