Hello, Ics files are plain text files, though I don't remember the date format they use for dates. The apple mail calandars do not actually automattically import ICS when they open dem but instead present a dialog where you can review and choose a calindar to add them to or cancel i'mport. I expect the thmat has progressed some but these have been around for about 10 years.
