There are some similarities in the keyboard commands, but the operating systems are very different.

I have a laptop that is capable of it, but I almost never use the touch input feature. As I recall, one of Apple's arguments for not adding touch screen input to Mac devices is that it's generally inconvenient to be touching a laptop-style, vertically oriented display frequently. I can agree with that, but, then, I'm faster with a keyboard anyway. Apple also offers the ability to use an iPad as an additional display for a Mac - I don't know how accessible this is with VoiceOver, as my iPad is too old for it. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
