I'm going to try and consolidate a few answers here.

David originally asked about Safari and filling in passwords and form fields. I
believe this is not a Safari issue, but a web site putting do not autofill on
the password field, and then Safari paying attention to this. This of course
makes sense for older browsers where there were no protections for the password
keep within the browser. I use 1Password to manage all my passwords rather than
the default browser password storage solutions which are different for each
browser vendor. With one password, I type command-\ and it will fill in my
username/password / one time password automatically. Generally, 1Password costs
a few dollars a month, but if you search carefully, you can find a non network
based version for a one time cost. 1Password is definitely more accessible than
lastpass which is what my office provides.

Somebody mentioned (was that David too?) that the VO find function was not
working for them in Firefox. I haven't tested that recently, since I have been
concentrating on Windows 11 accessibility for work recently and won't get back
to looking at VoiceOver and Firefox for a couple months. I don't remember
testing the search function but the item chooser did work in version 91 which
is the last time I checked.
Eric, I'd be glad to advise you some, but just saying something works weird
gives me no way of knowing what issues you were seeing. I'd be glad to bring up
Firefox some and see if I can reproduce / work around your issues if I knew
what they were.
Lastly, since I mentioned my workplace, let me just say that I don't work for a
browser developer.
