I thought the Synology Assistant was a separate application. When I go
to http://192.168.1.124, the address of my Synology DS1815+, I just get
a login page, nothing about the Synology Assistant. What server model do
you have? I wonder if you set it up with their software.

I have been using this company for network attached storage for 10 years. I
have never installed any of their software, either the Synology Assistant or
any of the layered products available on the server. I run it strictly through
a web browser. Have you tried that? Give it a try. It is not the most perfect
access, and it uses that horrible application mode on a Windows screen reader,
but it does work.
