Geoff,

If you are referring to the time and date that is displayed on the status menu, 
you have a couple of options. First control-f8 will take you to the status menu 
where the info is located. You also can enable keypad or keyboard commander in 
the VOiceOver Utility,, enable VOiceOver scripting, which is found under the 
General tab, and you can use a key sequence to get the date and time. These are 
the two quickest options. Of course I am assuming this is what you are trying 
to do.
