When I want to call or chat with a contact I hit enter on the contact name in the list. A window then comes up with the text chat. I then navigate to the toolbar which has several options. One of them is a call button. When someone calls I just navigate around until I find the answer button. I generally make the calls because I haven't figured out how to answer quickly so I can't describe the process better than that yet.
