Mary, few points here.

First, you should have 0 interoperability issues.  Scott's response earlier was 
right on the money.

That being said, you might want to look at other brands.  People are doing cool 
things with routers and switches out there and depending on your home 
connection and the speed of your service you want a router that will keep up.

You will notice a huge bump in performance simply by upgrading rom that linksys 
to something else since linksys had poor forwarding engines.

Check out the DLink products as well and remember that even though software is 
included with these routers you do not have to use it.  They are all 
configurable through the web.

Definitely feel secure in going with Apple though.
