Hi,

No, my Conversations are not always open, I prefer them closed as it makes it 
quicker to go through the messages table.

With respect to the left/right navigation thing, as I'm arrowing up/down 
through the conversations and I find a conversation I wish to read, I simply 
press return to open it.  Now, this is where the newest message comes up at the 
top, so I just Stop Interacting with the message, VO-left and it reads the 
message under the VO cursor, which is usually the oldest one and I just keep 
going left reading the rest.
