It really is quite good now, and I do know several people using the latest version on their Macs on the Windows side.

Hi! I actually was using nvda on the macbook at first, but since I know almost nothing about it, I wasn't having any luck getting it to work. If jaws install gets corrupted again, though, I might revisit that option.

Hi,
I suggest NVDA (http://www.nvda-project.org) as a screen reader. It is free, there are no activation license problems, it does not need to be re-authorized each time you touch your computer, and I can't think of anything jaws does that nvda does
not (except cost ridiculous amounts of money).

Have a great day,

Hi! I just did the update, and Bootcamp is working fine, although I
had to redo jaws activation for some reason, but Fusion doesn't seem
to be working. It also wanted to reactivate jaws, but I don't have any
more authorizations left to spare. I only got bootcamp and fusion
running a couple of days ago, so admit that I'm still really new to
the whole thing. I'm almost sure that since it's been fully setup, I'm
almost always going to prefer bootcamp over fusion, but am hesitant to
remove fusion because I'm afraid of breaking something. As I said, the
problem is that I don't have more jaws authorizations to waste on
playing with this; just had to request new ones to get this up and running at all, and I believe they've all been used up
already. For now, though, I'm going to play with the new lion and see if anything has been improved. I'm still not being placed on the desktop; still get a speech synthesis server window, so at the moment, the update doesn't seem helpful, but maybe it will improve over time. Sorry this doesn't make any sense, but I'm frustrated that I've already burned through so
many jaws authorizations.

This may be a Stupid question, but if I upgrade lion, is that going
to mess up bootcamp or fusion? I just got those working, and don't
want to mess them up, butI really, really want this lion
upgrade. Thanks for your responses.

Hi all.
Just a quick message to let you all know that Mac OS 10.7.3 is finally out.
VO is a bit more responsive but not as much as it was in S L.
Check you're software update and it should appear.
HTH.
