Dear Listers,

I've searched the archives of googlegroups for the answer but failed to find
one.

My spreadsheet is now over 100 rows long and it is growing. Increasingly,
Numbers has become extremely sluggish, so much so that it is driving me mad.
The constant "busy busy" message, the sluggishness with which I can move from
cell to cell is making me think that I won't be able to use Numbers any more
for the purpose of working with long spreadsheet tables. Is there another
solution? Does anyone else experience the same issue? I've switched off
autocomplete text in cells and it has initially improved the issue but the
longer my spreadsheet becomes, the more impossible it is to use Numbers. I've
tried Tables application but it is even worse so I have to ditch it. Also, with
my spreadsheet having so many rows, it takes ages to arrow up and down the
columns to get to the end of the table in order to enter more data. Adn And
again, when arrowing up and down, Numbers is very slow and eventually Voiceover
gets stuck on one particular cell and keeps repeating its content over and over
again unless I arrow up and down very very slowly.

I'd welcome any suggestions. I'd be reluctant to have to install Fusion but if
this is the only option, I may have to. But then I'd have to buy Ms Office
which is very expensive.

In case it helps, I run Mountain Lion on Macbook Air, 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2
Duo, 4GB RAM, 256 GB solid drive. Does Numbers perform better on newer
machines? I understand I can't add more RAM to my macbook air. It's late 2010
and I have the maximum RAM possible.

Many thanks for any suggestions

Andrew
