Hi,

As mentioned, both of these backup solutions do things differently but the same 
result in the end.  It is totally possible to use your Recovery patition to 
startup your Mac then restore from a Time Machine backup.  Similarly, you can 
use the bootable backup of SuperDuper then recover your entire HD.  Both are 
perfectly accessible and possible and both work as they should.  Technology 
occasionally does not work as it should and you could have a problem with a 
Time Machine backup just as you could have an issue with a SuperDuper image.  
I've been lucky and never experienced issues with either but that's just me.

If you are an extremely careful person, then both options are fine but either 
one will do the job fine.
