Hi,

Glad to help.  I'm guessing that the logic behind this is that Pages looks 
after the cursor position when creating the Table of Contents.  Another way 
around this may be to tell Pages to create a Table of Contents on the first 
page before you start entering anything on your paper.  Then it should simply 
create those Table of Contents entries as you all the text.  Any changes should 
just be live updated as you type and create specific headings.
