Let me rephrase the question. I am installing OS Mountain Lion from a DVD and I need to know if there is a certain point at which I can turn VoiceOVer on to talk me through the installation process or can I turn it on once I am at the main installation screen?

IF you mean getting Voice Over to read DVD menus, totally forget it. Why?
It's got to do with the way in which stuff is coded on to the disk.
