is there a low cost version that will allow me to OCR PDF and paper documents?
I looked at Docuscan, but they want like $300+ for the package (or if I want,
pay out $21.95 a month on a rental basis). the $21.95 I can afford, but I don't
like having to send off documents to a remote server just to be converted.
Thats what my machine is supposed to do.

btw, I am not running Mavericks here (too many bugs for my taste).
