Hi,

If you’re getting the “In Use” message, then it’s usually telling you that 
something on your removable media is really in use.  Press VO-f1-f1 to bring up 
the AppChooser menu.  If an app is open that was used to open a document or 
installer from something that resides on your removable media, then bring it 
forward and Quit the app with cmd-q.  If you had used an installer or .dmg file 
from this media, make sure both the Installer has quit and that the disk image 
is ejected before ejecting the removable media.

The Disk Utility app is in the Utilities folder, either cmd-shift-u when in the 
Finder or up to the Go menu and select Utilities folder.
