The plan that makes more sense is to keep the Maemo council election as planned
and get a new council that, among other things, will drive an agreement about
the mission, scope and processes of the MeeGo community council. Based on the
agreement a first MeeGo council election would be organized.

One of the things to be defined will be who can vote and who can become a
candidate. One of the easiest things to foresee is that Nokia and Intel
employees will be in the same situation than any other employee. Currently a
Nokia employee knows a lot more about the Maemo roadmap than any non-Nokia
candidate, and this makes it difficult for any of us to think of becoming a
useful council member. In the MeeGo context there will be a public roadmap, and
the employee of a company will know about the own pans of the company thanks to
his NDA, but in principle not about the confidential plans of other companies.
This means that the potential usefulness as council members of people like
tekojo, konttori, timeless, Eero, Marius, Rikku, etc is equal compared to
somebody with no links with Nokia or any other company.
