Summary: the 770 kernel is linux-2.6.16-omap1 which does have generic ALSA, but not specific support for the 770. There was a patch posted to the linux-omap-open-source list which was supposed to enable the AIC23 ALSA driver for the 770. I buillt a kernel with that patch and installed it on my 770. I did get it to make sound, but it was not at the right speed, so I think the driver would need some work.
