What's the difference between apt-get upgrading and using the application manager "search for updates" option? I thought it was the same...
If upgrading is not meant for consumers, why is that broken package in the maemo repository? Shouldn't it be in sardine? I mean, what's the point on having updated packages? But I absolutly agree that these packages need to be removed or fixed. Hopefully someone at nokia will do it for us. Yes, but if it segfaults, what do you recommend instead? Why can't people push a fixed version into the repository or revert to an earlier one if its known to be bad? I really would like to be able to apt-get upgrade my box without having to figure out single segfaulting libraries... I find this slightly annoying as it (obviously) affects many out there (including me).
