Be adviced that (at least according to the changelog & configure.in)
this is Cairo 1.2.4 which has serious crasher bugs (fixed in the lates
stable 1.2.6) and is slower by a factor of some hundreds compared to
the (unstable but stable ;) 1.3.x line of snapshots.

I'd recommend against making any judgements of performance based on that one.

(and that someone at Nokia would upgrade the svn to 1.3.x ASAP in
preparation for the imminent 1.4 release, though I guess it is all the
same to wait for that...)
