Daniel wants to get rid of non-standard Xsp. :-)

By all means get rid of non standard Xsp but dont replace it with
something that standard for doing something else and bend it to make
it fit ;-) You are essentially changing the server viewport area here
*not* the display size.

By all means implement xrandr but use it more for how its intended.
Rotating the display for example (that would effect all applications).

Using Xsp? Using TN instead of MB (why?)?

The TN or MB ,it doesn't matter, thats just an implementation
detail... It was more the general mechanism I interested in comments
on.
