Ok good. > > Done. Copying over at the moment to my server at netdepot.org. Wrote up > > mini- HOWTO: > > http://wiki.maemo.org/User:Jebba/Mirror > > Can you use reprepro to mirror the repos? I've never used it before and I just saw mention of apt-mirror on IRC, so I used that. I'll check out reprepro as apt-mirror felt a little crufty anyway. > Can you give me a log in to your machine? Right now it's on a box I don't give you access to, but I'll plonk it all within a nice KVM to keep things clean. Mail me your ssh pubkey and i'll set it up. It wasn't my intention to provide some big mirror for people to use myself, I was just suggesting the project have mirrors. There already is plenty of existing mirror infrastructure you can tap into, such as mirrors.kernel.org and ibiblio. Check out some of the mirrors used by other distros--there's a number of well known ones that will begin mirroring if you email them. Typically they use rsync from what I've seen, but if reprepro is becoming common, perhaps they are using that more often now too. It really is that simple with many of them--email contents: "Plz mirror me. rsync://rsync.maemo.org/pub Thx". That said, I'll still set it up and you can kick it around. :) You want Debian Lenny? > >> I think you'll find it non-trivial and your time > >> will be better spent helping the new infrastructure and pointing out > >> where Akamai fails to deliver so we can fix it. > > > > What can I do to help out with the new infrastructure? > > I think there is a lot one can do.
